About StockStory
Index.dev is partnering with StockStory (CNBC / VERSANT) to hire a Senior AI Engineer in Prague.
VERSANT is an independent, publicly traded company that brings together powerhouse brands such as CNBC, MS NOW (formerly MSNBC), USA Network, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Golf Channel along with dynamic digital and direct-to-consumer brands such as Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine.
StockStory, now part of CNBC under VERSANT, is building the next generation of AI-powered equity research for individual investors. This is a chance to help build the platform behind products that can shape how millions of CNBC readers understand markets and make investing decisions.
We offer the best parts of a startup environment — small team, high ownership, fast execution, and room to build with real autonomy — with the backing and stability of VERSANT, an independent publicly traded media company.
You will be joining a team of exceptional engineers, analysts, and investors at a pivotal stage of growth. This is a rare opportunity to help transform a startup system into a mature, rock-solid platform: shaping how we scale for significantly higher data volumes, a larger engineering organization, and broader product reach. You will own foundational decisions across cloud infrastructure, security, observability, and developer experience, while improving the reliability and resilience of systems already serving real users.
The Role
We're looking for a highly capable Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team to build the next generation of AI-powered equity research.
This role is for engineers who enjoy building and operating the infrastructure foundations behind demanding product, data, and machine learning workloads. It is especially well suited to people who want to own meaningful infrastructure domains, lead complex technical initiatives, and help ensure the systems that power product and AI experiences remain reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.
You will design, build, and operate core infrastructure systems that support our products: containerized platforms, distributed services, deployment and runtime environments, and the systems that enable ML training, batch processing, and low-latency inference. Your work will directly shape the quality and resilience of the engineering platform used across the company.
This role sits within a small and growing, high-caliber team where individuals are expected to operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy, contributing directly to platform, engineering, and infrastructure decisions while working closely with application, ML, and leadership teams in a highly collaborative, low-bureaucracy environment with direct access to decision-makers.
A genuine interest in investing, public markets, and fundamental business analysis is expected.
